Display

Display is what makes Samsung look like take a lead in the race of gadgets. SGS5 Super AMOLED screen bearing picture density of 432 ppi is as sharp as water and would give images a spectacular impact. It’s more than 5’’ inches screen enjoying 1080 p resolution is nothing but an absolute class. Samsung claimed that its OLED screen would be less saturated then the usual. On the other side of fence, Note 3 owns expansive 5.7’ inch screen. Racy picture sharpness and robust color production is not less than a treat to experience owing to its 1920x1080 pixel resolution giving a pixel density of 386 pixels-per-inch (ppi). Internals and Software

Processor, RAM, Storage & OS

SGS5 super-fast Quad-core 801 Snapdragon processor is what an aspirant having some gadgets’ specifications know-how would be looking for. 2048 MB Ram of SGS5 isn’t a side-splitter although but unfortunately it couldn’t beat Random Access Memory of Note 3 which is not less than 3 GB. Both of these flagship gadgets been brought to light with Adreno 330 Graphics processor clocked at 2.3 GHz.

16 GB Built-in memory of SGS 5 is lot much to satiate easily but what about Note 3 which holds in 32 GB internal memory? Simply LOADS OF SPACE. Samsung also came up with a 64 GB variant with each of both models supporting micro SD up to 64 GB.

In Samsung Galaxy 5, Firmware of Android 4.4.2 would elicit an obstruction-free use. Whereas in Note 3, incorporation of Android Jelly bean 4.3 makes it run smoothly, enabling gadget to make the best out of millions of apps available in Android Market .

Camera

SGS5 high resolution 16 Megapixel camera would enable the image capturing experience an upbeat one. It would result in snaps having shallow depth of field effects that would be worth-espying. Whereas 13 megapixels camera of Note 3 with LED flashlight, containing F2.2 aperture size with focal length of 31mm contributes a lot in its high picture quality and noise cleared image. Brilliant color differentiation with sharp resolution of both giants will give resplendent effect to the images. In Samsung Galaxy S5, Aperture of F2.2 conjugated with ½.5’ camera sensor with multiple features of Auto-focus, High Dynamic Range Mode, Touch to Focus, Manual Focus would definitely amplify the snap-capturing exercise.

On the contrary, Back-illuminated sensor , CMOS image sensor, Autofocus, Touch to focus, Digital image stabilization, Burst mode, Digital zoom, Geo tagging, Face detection, White balance presets, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), Exposure compensation, ISO control enable Galaxy Note 3 to deal with SGS5 in terms of high-end specifications. Its Camera sensor size of 1/3.06" illuminate and exonerate the snaps shot via Note 3 to a fair deal. For selfie lovers, SGS 5 supports 2.1 MP front camera which is almost same as that Note 3 possess (2 MP).

Battery

A USB port placed at the bottom of SGS5 isn’t what a noticing feature but fact worth-mentioning is its 3.0 USB port which is way better and uncanny than regular microUSB port, result in faster battery fluid recharge and rapid data transfer. We would recommend you to charge it with Computer USB socket because that would make your 2800 mAh battery fluid long lasting. Whereas the battery featured in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a Li-Ion 3100 mAh one, giving the phone a staggering battery life of up to 18 hours of talk time in a go.

Body

Samsung Galaxy S5 has gone with the perforated back plate instead of the Samsung's traditional faux leather look found on Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Both phones are mostly made out of plastic but SGS5 feels a bit more premium and sturdy.

Though the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a phablet and is made for a different market sector, comparing the size of both the devices is a moot point. Despite that, be informed that the Galaxy Note 3 is too big a device to carry around in your jeans pocket and though you can use its display without the S-pen, but you won't be able to use it with one hand only.

Verdict

As it wasn't really a straight forward smart phone comparison largely due to the fact that both devices are made by the same manufacturer for different market segments, yet we felt the need to compare both devices because of the soaring popularity of the Phablets over big smart phones. But it all comes down to consumer's preferences and choice. Both devices are well equipped to provide you good performance but Galaxy note 3 is better in case you want a bigger screen and a stylus, but Samsung Galaxy S5 is better because of smaller dimensions and some great new features introduced by Samsung.
